Written on the Ars Magica forums (the source post for this contains all the official ones into a darn handy post in Feb 2014), other source books, and other new ideas I’ve added at the end.

Where to put these?

  • D:Battle, D:War, from the Ars Magica forums.
  • D:Pose, lasts as long as the caster holds the position, pose, stance, etc.
  • D: Journey (+3), from the Ars Magica forums.
  • D Watch (based upon the 4 hours watch during nighttime in ancient Rome).
  • T: Pair (+1), by Erik Tyrrell.
  • Range:Sphere, by Xavi. Equivalent to Voice (+2). Centered in the magus, the spell projects outward from him and affects anyone within a sphere of 3,15 paces in radius. “Created by Carolus Flambonesis. He was a XI century magus of the school of Ramius and a seeker. He was specially fond of investigating dangerous places alone, and found himself confronted by multiple opponents repeatedly. He invented this range in order to affect multiple opponents all around him at once with his spells to get “good ol’, heated up breathing space” as he used to say.”
  • Duration: Season, by Xavi. (+4)  Until the end of the current season? “Just thought it should have been there since Bonisagus (at east, probably MUCH older), being such a basic construction brick of the hermetic/Ars paradigm. its non-existence is amazing to me. “
  • Duration: Wound, by Xavi. “I just came up with that (never used it IMS). I can see a Tytalus or Tremere working that up, specially if they are able with corpus and have mobility (military, tracking) abilities to exploit. For a not-so-obvious approach,. a Criamon might get uses for that through scarification, or an exmiscellanea that uses some patterns of chtonic magic”

Suggested sample idea from source material: R: Horizon (HoH:TL), which is probably +4 mags.

My own R, D, Ts:

  • Duration: Decan. Should probably be +3 mags because Sun is +2. From the Egyptian and ancient Greek separation of the year into 36 decans, each around 10 days long. Each is roughly ten days long, so Duration Decan should last until a new decan has started and ended, giving at least 10 days, but no assurance of more depending on the situation. See wikipedia:Decan for more.
  • Duration: Seal (+3).
  • Duration: Tide (?) Perhaps equivalent to Sun (+2), requires the tide to change twice for the duration to expire. This makes it slightly less powerful than Sun during part of the day, and slightly more powerful afterward.
  • Target: Container (+2).
  • T:Wall, and potentially other shapes, as an idea to have default shapes to spell effects, by construct a long rectangular “shape” magic.
